A Day At The Beach
Swimming & the Beach
The centerpiece of a Plummerville vacation is the 300 feet of naturally sandy beach. With a clear, sandy bottom and gradual slope, this beach is perfect for swimmers of all abilities, young and old. Over 70 feet of dock and a large swim platform anchored 100 yds offshore enhance the swimming area. And with an average water temperature of 75F from Memorial Day until the middle of September, it's no wonder that the first thing most kids do upon arrival is 'head for the beach to go swimming'.
Boating
Panther is an ideal lake for all forms of boating activity. With large portions of the shoreline undeveloped, it is ideal for exploring in a canoe, kayak, or rowboat. Sailing is a popular pasttime for many of our guests, as is fishing with a small outboard. Larger motorboats can be tied at the dock (depending on size) or moored offshore and the minimal boat traffic on the lake has been deemed ideal for waterskiing. It is easy to launch your boat from our beach. However, please be aware that we will be checking boats and trailers for the presence of milfoil (an agressive, invasive weed that can choke the life out of a lake).
Fishing
What could be more peaceful than a day of fishing? Bass, trout, and pickeral can all be found in abundance. And Panther is stocked regularly, insuring a healthy habitat and plenty of sport. Fishing licenses and bait are readily obtained locally.
